Description:
for UNIT 423 Fire Restoration Summary – Unit 423 Prepared by: 1-800 Water Damage of Greater Tucson (ROC License #262668) Technician: John Brewer, IICRC Certified (License #141780) John Brewer of 1-800 Water Damage of Greater Tucson conducted a fire damage assessment of Unit 423. Upon inspection, it was determined that the fire caused only superficial damage, affecting the outermost layer of drywall. The insulation and structural components were not compromised. Soot residue was present throughout the unit. To confirm the absence of deeper damage, two small inspection openings were made in the wall. Based on Mr. Brewer’s IICRC training and professional experience, he concluded that the insulation and wall studs were free of fire damage and that the structural integrity of the unit remained intact. Although no structural damage was identified, the insulation was removed due to smoke odor. All personal belongings, appliances, and fixtures were also removed to be professionally cleaned by the property management company for later reinstallation due to soot contamination. After the unit was stripped to the studs and subfloor, all exposed surfaces were cleaned with an anti-microbial agent and treated with an odor-blocking primer. New R-19 insulation was installed in the exterior-facing walls. The property management team subsequently installed new drywall and flooring and reinstalled the cleaned fixtures. The restoration process has been completed, and Unit 423 has been returned to a safe and livable condition.
