RE: portable off site sign review
For: Sky Ilsands school at 6000 E 14th St
Sign location: 330 S Wilmot (SW corner of 14th / Wilmot)
Sign permit: T20OT00607
Reviewer: H. Thrall

1. School site is zoned R-1, maximum sign size for R-1 zoned use is 16 square feet. Request is for approximately 20.3 square foot sign. SDRC review required (UDC 7A.10.3.b.3)

2. The sign is requested off-site, at the SW corner of 14th / Wilmot. The sign location would be within an easement on the site established for the use of displaying signage for the parcel directly to the west.
A) Provide written permission from property owner for sign display and terms of display (i.e. location and duration)

B) provide written permission from the easement holder (parcel ownership to west) for use of their easement to display another sign within. Provide terms of use - i.e. placement allowance and time line?

3. SDRC 7A7.2 applies for portable sign design option. Determined 6 items of information does include the name of school and logo combined together, other lines of sign data are separate items of information.

4. Portable signs need to be relatively easy to remove - i.e. no permanent footer, and must be maintained in good condition. SDRC process applications provided to contractor and received also back by staff.

Requires both written property owner and easement holder letters to proceed with sign location / SDRC process.
