This 8-hour partial street closure is in support of the Memorial Day Ceremony at Purple Heart Park, 9800 E. Rita Rd. This is a long-standing event which has been co-sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department and Ward 4 for many years. The closure of the lane provides for additional parking, and helps to slow traffic in the area, as the ceremony is located on the outer edge of the park at the Purple Heart Memorial wall.
