For: Coronet / Fonda La Hermanita
AT: 198 W Cushing Street
Permit: T19OT00615
Reviewer: H. Thrall
Date: 7/3/19

Requires temporary revocable easement (TRE) for projecting sign on Meyer frontage to extend past property line over right of way.

Review comments as follows:

1) Vary to exceed total of 40 square feet of sign area for a commercial premise (HC-3 zone). 7A.11.1.C. Maximum area of any sign: Eight square feet in a residential zone: 40 square feet in a
commercial zone. The sign shall be appropriately sized, result in minimal damage to historic fabric, and avoid adverse effects on qualities that make a building eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
Existing externally illuminated wall signage totals 44.7 square feet (4.5 x 5.8 and 3.8 x 5.9, one sign per street front - of Meyer and Cushing). However, the proposal is to add 2 non-illuminated signs; an oval shaped projecting sign at 6 square feet on the Meyer frontage - and an oval shaped wall sign at 4.3 square foot on the north elevation along Cushing Street frontage. The total proposed sign area is 55 square feet.

2) Vary the number of signs per street front: 7A.11.1.B.
Total number of signs: One per street frontage per premise, except that businesses with frontage on more than two streets are permitted to have a total of no more than three signs.

3) Vary the number of signs allowed maximum for a premise with more than one street front 7A.11.1.B.
Total number of signs: One per street frontage per premise, except that businesses with frontage on more than two streets are permitted to have a total of no more than three signs.}
