Thrall / B. Wiese 1) Acknowledged through research this location, though within residential zone, has an established nonconforming use of a lawyer's office. 2) 7A.11.1.C. - the residential zoning of the site, with just one street front indicates the maximum sign area is 8 square feet, and may consist of one sign. The application shows two signs, both greater than 8 square feet. Please revise. 3) Upon review of resubmitted plans, please note this project will require historic review; entailing both the review by the El Presidio Historic Preservation Zone Advisory Board and by the Tucson Pima County Historic Commission plans review subcommittee. Staff will provide a written referral to apply for that process once the application has met the Sign Standards. Note that construction of the signage should utilize materials compatible with the historic overlay (i.e. metals, wood - not plastics). Freestanding signage requires a setback from street curb of 20', if the applicant elects to proceed with that type of sign - and pole covers or architectural embellishments for the structural supports are required (unless wood). For wall signage, mounting should involve minimal penetrations. For questions, email Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov or call 520-837-4975.} |
