05/29/2015 | SIGN INSPECTION | N/A | Not ready for Inspection | SIGN SHOP INSPECTION NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED AND THE SIGN NEEDS TO BE HUNG FROM THE WALL. THERE IS A QUESTION ABOUT IF THE SIGN WILL MEET THE STANDARDS, IT IS OVER 4 FEET TALL AND NEEDS TO BE HUNG WHERE IT IS 8 FEET OFF THE GROUND AND NO MORE THAN 12 ABOVE THE FINISH GRADE. I HAVE ADVISED THE CONTRACTOR TO CONTACT GLENN MOYER ABOUT HIS NOT MEETING ALL THE STIPULATIONS. GLENN MOYER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FOLLOWING BY ME ON 5/29 VIA E-MAIL Glenn This is the sign that the contractor called you on earlier. The height of the sign is 49 & 1/4 inches, is there a stipulation that it can not exceed either of the required dimensions. I have been advised that this sign needs to be no larger than 48 inches since their is a limit that it cannot have a clearance less than 8 feet (96 inches) and cannot be taller than 12 feet (144 inches). If they hold at 8 feet of clearance can they go above 12 feet, or if they maintain the top of sign at 12 feet can they be less than 8 feet on the pedestrian clearance? I don't need to face the Board of Inquiry of why it passed out of spec. Thanks David HE RESPONDED LATER THAT DAY WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION Okay to go the 1.25 inches higher. Hold the eight feet clearance. Glenn Moyer, AICP THIS INSPECTION WILL BE SCHEDULED AT A LATER DATE FOR THE FINAL INSPECTION. |
