CITY OF TUCSON REGULATIONS PRESENTLY DO NOT PERMIT THE FLOODPROOFING OF A NEW STRUCTURE BY ANY METHOD OTHER THAN RAISING THE LOWEST FINISHED FLOOR AT LEAST ONE FOOT ABOVE THE HIGHEST WATER-SURFACE ELEVATION INTERSECTING THE FOOTPRINT OF THE STRUCTURE DURING A BASE (I.E., 100-YEAR OR JURISDICTIONAL) FLOOD. HOWEVER, PER JIM VOGELSBERG P.E. AN EXCEPTION APPLIES TO THIS PROJECT, WHERE, UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES AS ACCEPTED BY THE FLOODPLAIN ADMINISTRATOR, IN AREAS OF NON-SFHA AREAS WHERE JURISDICTIONAL NON-SFHA FLOWS ARE INDICATED AS LESS THAN 1-FOOT, AND FOR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS LARGER THAN 50,000 SQFT THAT MAY HAVE STEPPED FINISHED FLOORS, EACH FINISHED FLOOR WILL MEET AN ELEVATION THAT IS AT LEAST ONE FOOT ABOVE THE HIGHEST WATER-SURFACE ELEVATION INTERSECTING THE FOOTPRINT OF EACH FINISHED FLOOR. PRE-SLAB & FINAL ELEVATION CERTIFICATIONS, WITH EXHIBITS, PREPARED BY AN ARIZONA REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR, AND SPECIAL INSPECTIONS ARE REQUIRED PER JIM VOGELSBERG P.E.. THIS CONDITION APPLIES TO INSPECTION 1015 AND SUBSEQUESNT INSPECTIONS SHOULD NOT BE SCHEDULED UNTIL THE ELEVATION CERTIFICATION DOCUMENT AND OTHER ASSOCIATED PERMIT CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN APPROVED. PER JIM VOGELSBERG P.E., CERTIFICATION DOCUMENT SHALL INCLUDE ELEVATION OF EACH FORMED PRE-SLAB TO SHOW THAT EACH FLOOR FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE AT, OR ABOVE HIGHEST REGULATORY WATER-SURFACE ELEVATION INTERSECTING THE FOOTPRINT OF EACH FINISHED FLOOR, WHICH IS 1-FOOT ABOVE THE 100-YR WSEL IMPACTING EACH SLAB (2-FEET ABOVE NATURAL GRADE AT ANY POINT UNDER EACH SLAB). THIS CONDITION ALSO APPLIES TO ALL FINAL INSPECTIONS (1090, 2090, 3090, 4090) AND INSPECTIONS SHOULD NOT BE SCHEDULED UNTIL THE ELEVATION CERTIFICATION AND ASSOCIATED PERMIT CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN APPROVED. ORIGINAL PRE-SLAB AND FINAL ELEVATION CERTIFICATION STATEMENTS ARE REQUIRED AND SHALL DOCUMENT THE PRE-SLAB AND FINAL ELEVATIONS TO SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH THIS CONDITION AND SHALL BE SEALED BY A REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR.
