10/16/2008 Revise the application to address preservation of the existing barrel cactus near the northern boundary of the site. The proposed retaining wall may impact the survival of these protected plants. We suggest that these be shown on the landscape plan. Assuming the cati can be preserved through the construction process, the current location of the cacti will even be less consistent with the requirement to locate protected native plants in locations able to support their long term health and viability, due to the additional shading created by the retaining wall.
