01/05/2026 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed CEMEX provided the approved mix of 4000 PSI Class S mix to pour the back wall of the drainage box adjacent to TAA yard. Approximately 5 yds were poured for wall and manhole tops. The manholes were formed and poured according to PAG Standard 302. CMT, quality control, made sample cylinders of the concrete used.
01/14/2026 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Cemex provided the approved concrete mix to the pour and was placed in multiple areas (drainage inlet box at station 19+50, manhole 7&8 collars, and manholes 5&6 collars which are at stations 16+57 and 12+57). The structural rebar was inspected by QC and QA; it was per specifications as well per plan. The concrete was sampled and cylinders were left on site. A total of 10 yards were utilized. The concrete was finished to a stiff brush finish and a curing compound was sprayed on it to set.

07/31/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Site Inspection - Headwall for drainage structure at 6th Ave and Elvado has been breached, but contractor broke out more than was expected. New section of headwall will need to be poured and set in place.
08/11/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed 42# RCPs are being installed along Elvado heading E toward Geronimo. Area is being excavated, RCP's are being placed on bedding sand, and being prepared to be slurried in place the next day.
08/12/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Slurry was used to put in place RCPs 15-17. Approved mix was delivered and used up to spring line.
08/13/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed RCP's are being set, and they are up to 25, total 50 for double barrel. A proctor was taken for native that is being mixed with 57 rock. This will be used for the backfill.
08/18/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed JudCo,LLC is backfilling the open trench. They are using recycled AB from the site. It has been screened, and a soil sieve has been run. The engineering company has approved of its use. A proctor was picked up this morning and delivered to the City materials lab for a proctor to be run.
08/20/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Pipes 15-20 were set in with approved slurry mix provided by CEMEX. Two trucks delivered a total of 20 yards.
08/21/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Next set of RCP's were slurried in place up to the spring line for the 42" pipes. CEMEX provided the approved mix. Trench and pipes have been laid up to 102 E Elvado (station 4+00)
08/22/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Pipes located in front of 101 E Elvado were slurried into place. Ten yards of approved slurry mix was provided by CEMEX. Backfill PAG standard AB is being hauled on site to begin large backfilling measures. A proctor was taken to lab for testing.
08/25/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed More RCP pipes are being installed along Elvado. JudCo has backfilled a couple of areas to create driveways or areas where the large machinery can get by. PAG standard AB is on site now and will be used to backfill. A proctor was picked up on Friday and should be ready for density tests on Wednesday, August 27th.
08/25/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Ten yds of slurry was poured up to spring line on RCP's up to 110 E Elvado. Mix was approved slurry and provided by CEMEX.
08/26/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed More RCP's are being placed up to address 117 E Elvado. Between lot 109 and 117, two manholes will be placed. The RCP's have been separated for those manholes to be poured and placed. Densities are scheduled for tomorrow, August 27th.
08/26/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed RCP's are still going in and are at approximately station 3+50. The trench has been backfilled from the intersection of Elvado and 6th Ave up to station 3+00.

08/27/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed More RCP's being placed along Elvado. They have completely crossed over onto the North side of the street and have spaced out the 42" pipe where the double manholes will be placed.
08/28/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Pipes were slurried to lot address 125 E Elvado. Correct mix design was delivered and placed between pipes up to the spring lines.
08/29/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Backfilling was happening during visit. Trench is heading E, and backfill is behind it also heading E. Roadway AB is going in in lifts between 6-8 inches. Jumping jack and industrial plate tamp are being used to compact. AB is prepared and tossed with moisture to keep the dust down as well as create better compaction. Sheep's foot connected to mini excavator is also used.
09/02/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed RCP's were being placed and are now in front of lot 217 E Elvado. Pipes are being bedded with approved bedding sand and fitted per specifications. Manholes have not been formed up yet; however, backfill has been placed on both sides to protect area and allow for easy access for work later in the week.
09/03/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed 42" RCP placement is ongoing. They are in front of lot 225 E Elvado. Pipes are being set on top of bedding sand, lubed, and set according to plan specifications. Appears slurry will be poured today up to the spring line. Also, met on site with Jud and Colby regarding some questions Jud had about manhole setting and pouring. He was advised by Colby to either follow the standard details (302 and 300) or have Kimley Horn draw something up for review.
09/04/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed RCP's were slurried in place using approved mix provided by CEMEX. Double barrel drainage has been slurried up to lot 225 E Elvado right before they reach the transverse drainage grate at station 8+57.69. Fifty yards were ordered and used for RCP's this morning. Slurry was placed up to spring line in preparation for backfilling using roadway grade AB.
09/08/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Double manhole base was poured using approved 4000 PSI Class S mix. Base met approved PAG Standard detail 300. #6 rebar was used at 6" on center, and was a minimum of 6 feet wide between RCP's. Surface was finished with a float to create a flat surface. All reinforced steel was covered with a minimum of 1 1/2" of concrete all around.
09/08/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed The transition is being made between 42" and 24" pipes as the project continues heading East toward Geronimo Ave and eventually ending at Nogales Hwy. The transition is occurring in front of lot 233 E Elvado Rd. There will be a transverse grate at the transition. The 24" pipe is being bedded with approved bedding sand and the same material will be used to stable the 24" RCP's up to the spring line.
09/09/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Trenching is ongoing in order to install 24" RCP along Elvado. The trench is crossing Geronimo and making its way in front of lot 7171 S Geronimo along the N side of Elvado. RCP's are being bedded with approved bedding sand and set in place with bedding sand up to spring line according to specifications. Lube material is being placed on the connecting ends of the pipes to facilitate and create a better seal between pipes. Also, the box/walls of the manholes are also being formed up with new lumber. The pour for the walls and base of the transverse grates is planned for Wednesday, 9/10.
09/10/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Manhole walls are being formed in order to be poured the next working day. Forms are brand new plywood and 2x4's and secured with proper tools and fasteners. Rebar used throughout the entire framing is "6 rebar spaced at 6" on center. Also, backfill is going into trench in front of lot 233 E Elvado. Approved roadway AB is being used.
09/11/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Manhole walls were poured today using the approved mix design. They were formed up to create the manhole boxes for the drainage at station 4+66. Brand new wooden forms were used to form up the walls utilizing #6 rebar and to typical specifications since there isn't a detail for walls just base and top of manhole. A vibrator was used to help consolidate and move the concrete walls which were approximately 3.5 feet in height and about a foot in width. The walls encase the openings of the 42" RCPs as well as a separation wall was poured to create individual boxes for each set of pipes. Also the transverse trench was base was poured after being framed up with #6 rebar as well. The bases were poured in preparation for wall forming and pouring the next working day.
09/12/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Manhole for double top was poured using the approved mix design of 4000 PSI mix provided by CEMEX. Rebar design was inspected by me as well as the QC (CMT). It matched the PAG standard detail #302. Concrete was sampled by QC and cylinders were made. All work was done according to specifications (302 & 304).
09/17/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed CMT took cylinders for the transverse grate walls poured located just feet west of the Geronimo and Elvado intersection. I previously took sample cylinders for the base of the structure. Concrete was vibed, finished, and brushed.
09/30/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty-four inch RCP is being placed along the N side of Elvado east of Geronimo. It is being bedded in approved bedding sand. Home connection to sewer (HCS) lines are being relocated lower than the pipe since the connection is along the north side of the street behind the curb. Also, water lines are having to be lowered as well. The trench is only 20-30 feet in length and open; therefore, a 7 foot fence is in place to keep wanderers out and the area safe.
10/03/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty-four inch RCP's are being placed along the north side of Elvado east of Geronimo intersection. Water lines are being lowered that service lot across the way from 314 E Elvado. Water service lines are placed under the pipe lower than 36". Backfill is being brought up in lifts with compaction at each one with jumping jack.
10/07/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty-four inch RCP's are being placed along the north side of Elvado just east of Geronimo intersection (approximately station 11+50). RCP's are being bedded with approved bedding sand up to spring line and AB backfill the remainder of the way up to finished subgrade. HCS and water lines are being taken into consideration and being lowered as they run into each.
10/09/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty four inch RCP's are being backfilled in place after being bedded up to spring line with bedding sand. The first lift is being compacted with a jumping jack while soil is placed after being combined and worked with moisture. The current trench is approximately 200 feet long between stations 10+50 and 12+57 where the new manholes are to be casted.
10/14/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty-four inch RCP's are being placed once again after allowing soil to dry out and resetting moved RCP from heavy rains days prior. Pipes are being bedded with approved bedding sand and placed according to plans and specifications.
10/22/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty-four inch reinforced concrete pipes are being installed along Elvado and are at station 13+80. Bedding sand is being used to seat the pipes and to set them in place up to the spring line. Rubber gaskets are being placed with lubricant to create a strong seal between each pipe.
10/24/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Twenty four inch RCP's are being installed and bedded using approved bedding sand up to the spring line. The trench is now from station 12+50 - 14+00. Backfilling is taking place using roadway AB in areas in front of driveways to maintain access to the folks who live in the neighborhood. A jumping jack is being used to bring up the lifts up and over the pipes. The soil is being processed with water and mixed at the yard and brought in by a loader to be placed.
10/29/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Trench for twenty-four inch pipes are being dug, pipes laid, and backfilled along Elvado just east of Geronimo. They are now at station 14+60. Water lines have been lowered and reconnected as trench is making its way eastward. Pipes are being bedded using bedding sand and backfilled with roadway AB. As lifts go up, they are being compacted using a jumping jack and a sheep's foot wheel attachment on the excavator.
11/04/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Observed twenty-four inch RCP's being placed at station 14+75. RCP's were bedded using bedding sand and covered with roadway AB as backfill. Water lines and services had to be lowered and have been taken care of at station 14+50. Area is clear for driveways to be accessed where needed.
11/05/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Met with Jud, Colby, and Kimley Horn for our bi-weekly meeting on the Elvado trenching. All is good. Twenty-four inch pipes are still being laid and bedded with approved bedding sand as well as being backfilled with roadway AB. We discussed finishing timeline. Jud believes they will finish in late November and still are on track to do so. I am not so sure with the amount of manholes they still need to build out, pour, and connect. There are a total of 3 sets of 2 they still need to pour as well as a transverse grate that traverses the entire stretch of Elvado toward the end of the line at Nogales Hwy. Nevertheless, so far there haven't been any issues dealing with the work or the neighbors.
11/10/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Trenching for 24" RCP's is continuing along the N side of Elvado before getting to Nogales Hwy. The trench is currently at station 16+60 just passed the area where another set of manholes will be located. They are currently working on re-setting a water service line to lot belonging to Celia Young (425 E Elvado). The trench is only approximately 50 feet in length. The rest has been backfilled in order to give residents access to their driveways. There is another section open in preparation for manholes at station 12+57 to be formed and poured.
11/17/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Trenching for 24" RCP's is ongoing and has reached station 19+00 approximately. There are a total of 3 manhole pairs that need to be formed and poured. Jimmy said they will begin doing so this week. RCP's are going in nicely, being bedded, and trench is being compacted with roadway AB.
11/19/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Trench and 24" RCP's are at the end of the run closest to Nogales Hwy along N side of Elvado at station 19+30. Pipes are being bedded with approved bedding sand. RCP's are fitting nicely together with rubber seal and grease to form seal. Approximately 125 feet of trench is exposed, but the area is fenced off and road is hard closed so traffic is not allowed to enter.
11/24/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Rebar inspection for manhole bases at stations 12+57 and 16+57. Rebar is spaced and tied off according to specifications. Eight inches spacing and rebar is being held together with wire. The web is held off the ground with chair spacers made of concrete pavers. Rebar is placed 12 inches long by 6 feet wide.
11/25/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Three manhole bases were poured along Elvado's drainage RCP's at stations 12+57, 16+57, and 19+30. All three were inspected for rebars against specifications by QC, CMT, and me. CEMEX provided the concrete mix and CMT sampled and made cylinders. A total of 12 yards were used to pour the three manhole bases.
12/03/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed CEMEX provided 5 yds of approved concrete mix to pour walls at two manholes (stations 12+57 and 16+57). The walls were encased by new plywood and the rebar was formed per specifications and plans. CMT technician inspected the rebar, and I did so with her. The walls were poured and vibed to allow concrete to spread evenly. Sample cylinders were taken by CMT and me.
12/08/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed CEMEX provided the approved concrete mix to pour the walls on manholes located at station 19+30. Also, the top at station 12+57 was poured using the same mix. All boxes were formed up using new material. Rebar was per specifications and plans. Concrete was vibed in order to consolidate and finished with trowels for a smoother finish.
12/12/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Transverse grate and drainage box bases were poured with approved mix provided by CEMEX. Rebar was placed, tied, and inspected per plans. Bases on both structures were poured. Transverse grate is at station 18+50 and drainage box is at station 19+50. A total of 24 yds were poured, vibed, and finished to a somewhat smooth finish to set up the base when walls and tops are poured.
12/23/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed CEMEX provided an approved concrete mix to pour manhole #3 top @ station 16+57. Also, catch basin walls at station 19+40. The mix came in with a 4.0" slump and was tested by CMT, quality control. Sample cylinders were made. Structures were formed up according to plans. A total of 7 yards were poured.
12/26/2025 TRSP - PIA - Drainage Structure Passed Workers were stripping the final pieces of forms from the transverse grate. Construction area was being cleaned up of debris and trash. Roadway AB was trucked in so they can start backfilling multiple trenches throughout the work area.
