8/19/26: R602.6.1 where top plates at load bearing walls have been over notched or drilled you are required to have a nail plate that extends 6" on both. Sides and require (8) 10D nails on both sides, seal all penetrations through vapor barrier throughout garage, nail plates required where (mechanical,plumbing,electrical) come within 1 1/4" of stud face (throughout), Secure metallic flexible conduit in garage, secure Exhaust duct through every 4', Supply/return air duct shall be supported 4' o.c, DWV shall be secured 4' o.c horizontal and 10' vertical (2" pipes require support midway)(OSB supports on DWV above ceiling not code compliant,properly secure plenum box at first floor, DWV must be under pressure (2nd floor not pressurized), seal penetrations throughout vapor barrier at 2nd floor attic space, properly secure smart panel, seal penetrations through top plate 2nd floor, support flex duct 4' o.c throughout (both 1st and 2nd floor, seal penetration at Duct chase 2nd floor, tape torn duct at 2nd floor chase. |
