06/17/1999 INITIAL CODE VIOLATION Correction Required ADDTL COMMS - 902 E.Linden St., 1822 N.Tyndall and 1816 N.Tyndall are adjacent parcels that are owned by the same corporation, Royal Apartments USA INC. This corporation is going to be demolishing all the structures on these properties in the next month to make room for an apartment complex. While performing rental evaluations in the area, the dwelling at 902 E.Linden St. was noted to be open and heavily damaged. Upon closer evaluation, it was noted that the exterior doors were broken off their hinges and all of the windows in the dwelling were broken out. There was also a 3x 3 hole in the west exterior block wall, that were apparently made by the large bolders laying on the floor in the bedroom where the hole is located. The interior of the house was very damaged, including walls, doors, and breakfast bar. The floor, in most rooms was covered with clothes, shoes, paper, books, food, alcoholic beverage bottles and building debris, including alot of broken glass. This building needed to be boarded and secured as soon as possible to negate entry. The lot directly to the south contained two structures that were in acceptable condition. However, the west unit was open and needed to be locked. The next southerly lot apparently had two mobil homes that were recently removed. However, the lot is full of debris and there is a storage shed that may be used for sleeping quarters by an old tenant. Due to the late hour on June 4th, it was impossible to locate the owners that are located in Illinois. Therefore, due to the hazardous condition of 902 E.Linden St., a board

On Monday June 7th, the corporation was contacted in Illinois and their representative, Sharon Noggle, said she would have the owners or property managers contact us. Monday morning, June 7th, Roy Drachman called to inquire, stating that he was the commercial property manager for the company and that he would have the residentail manager contact us. The same morning, the residential property manager, W.Richard Getman called. The situation at all three parcels was explained to him. He stated that the boarding up by WMJ would be payed for by the corporation and that he would secure the middle parcels building and evict anyone that was living on the southern most parcel. The following day, June 8th, I returned to the sight and found the middle parcel structure to be adequately secured. However, it still appeared that someone may be residing in a shed on the southern parcel. There were two vehicles present along with a dog sleeping next to the shed. Mr. Getman was contacted and he stated that he told the person there that they would have to vacate, and that he had been told to vacate before. Also, I discussed with Mr.Getman the hazards that were present on the southerly most parcel, ie, debris and holes from old post footings. It was suggested to Mr.Getman that the lot be cleaned for safety or that the lot be fenced to prevent entry. On June 15th, I visited the property again and found the same dog next to the shed and that the lot has yet to be cleaned. Mr. Getman said that he would return to the
