OLC: a. The OLC requires a timer for each sign, understood the units you're working with have a built in system . Provide an on site timer as back up, set to midnight curfew, for inspection. 2. RE: sign review For: new monument sign with digital message center AT: 3619 N 1st Avenue Sign Permit: T22OT00378 Reviewer: H. Thrall Date: 5/23/22 (Revision reviewed 6/10/22) Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC 600), Tucson Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), and International Building Code (IBC). 2. NEC: (Not addressed) a. explain the power source to the sign - is it existing with a permit or does it require electrical permit still? b. note location of the dedicated circuit and labeled breaker panel c. provide the volts, amps, and circuits for the sign on the elevation view 3. OLC: (Not addressed) a. acknowledged sure fire sign letter, thank you. Clarify on plan sheet view what the method is to dim the sign to 200 NITS (i.e. laser sensor?) and the location of it on the sign (i.e. on the side of the cabinet?) b. add note that the sign shall not exceed 200 NITS light brightness from sunset to midnight curfew c. add note the EMC unit is a master and mirror to present same message on each side simultaneously d. add note the unit is full color and shall not exceed 4400k color temperature light brightness at any time (including daytime) for an internally illuminated sign e. add note for the timer location f. add note the sign shall shut off at midnight curfew via timer 4. UDC 7A: a. The site qualifies for the sign, based on the overall site frontages off each Prince and 1st Avenue, per prior discussion. For the permit record, please provide an aerial overview of the entire site with the street frontages measured along both Prince Road and 1st Avenue. b. provide sight visibility triangle at the street corner, measured 20' into the site either from the curb or from the white line of travel lane (Admin Manual 10-05) and at 345' long heading west away from the site (understood it would go past the site, provide it to scale on the page and note the plan scale) c. ID the location and the number of freestanding signs on the site, and their pending removal. d. on the site plan, note the location of the sign is in a vehicle display area (not parking area) and provide any bollards or curbing that may be needed to protect the sign 2.
