Communication called T.F.D. on site with house fire. Upon arrival all the Fire units have cleared. Fire Investigators were on site checking for cause of the fire. The tenant was cooking on the stove with grease and the fire started and got into the attic area. The roof system is built up and has fire damage to the knee bracing, the 1X sheathing, the ridge board and the support for the ridge. The drywall was pulled down to check for the fire in the attic area. One of the ceiling joist has been cut to check into the attic for extension of the fire. The fire was contained to the kitchen area and has smoke damage just outside the door way to the living room area. All the other rooms are OK. The electric and gas was removed at the meter due to the fire damage. At the stove has a gas line above the stove and the pipe was involved in the fire. Has a second unit in the rear attached and has no damage from the fire. The electrical is connected to the front house and not able to isolate the electrical to leave on. The fire did get into the ductwork above the stove and has heat damage and went out to the roof. S.W.G. was called to the site due to the gas line was involved in the fire. The line test and the survey all passed. The meter was replaced due to aged. Once the electrical is turned back on, the tenant can call S.W.G. and the gas will be turned back on without a permit.
