Entered by VIDAL - Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a electrical fire. Arrived and all the units have cleared. The fire investigators were on site checking for cause. The tenant has left the site to take a baby to another location. She came back amd met with the fire investigators on the cause. The electrical went off in the neighborhood and the tenant lit a candle in the bedroom and that's where the fire started. The beroom has plaster walls and ceilings and the top layer is peeling off. The door has burned and the window is dual pane and the interior pane has broke from the heat of the fire. The electrical and the gas have been turned off due to the amount of fire damage for both units. The other bedroom, living room, bathroom and hallway have haeavy smoke damage through out. hole made in the wall in the living room to check for the extension of the fire in the wall. The wood framing has no damage and the fire was contained to the bedroom to the wall and ceiling covering. The outlets, switches and light fixtures will need to be checked in the area of the bedroom. Heating and cooling system will need to be check for smoke or heat damage. Plumbing OK. Not able to make contact with the owner or the property manager and the tenant signed the paperwork. Did post Do Not Enter on the front window. The electrical will need a reconnect to be turned back on and once the electrical is on the gas can be turned back on with out a permit due to pass the line test and the survey for the property. RV. |
