09/21/2022 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved VISITED SITE, FIRST MET WITH MAINTANENCE MANAGER, I ASKED HE TAKE ME TO THE TRASH COMPACTOR AREA, AND THEN THEN SHOOT ROOM IN EACH HALLWAY AREA. WE VISITED THE COMPACTOR AREA, THIS COMPLEX USES A SMALLER TRASH CONTAINER, WHEN THE TRASH IS COMPACTED IT THEN GOES INTO THE TRASH CONTAINER. WHEN THE CONTAINER IS FULL, IT IS WHEELED OUT AND A NEW CONTAINER WHEELED IN, THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO CONTAINERS WAITING TO BE EXCHANGED OUT. THE AREA JUST OUTSIDE THE COMPACTOR AREA WAS SOME FURNITURE, PALLETS, SMALL REFRIGERATOR STACKED IN ONE AREA, THOSE ITEMS GET REMOVED EVERY WEEKEND. WE NEXT WALKED THE HALLWAYS AND THERE WAS NO TRASH OR DEBRIS IN THE HALLS, IT HAD ALREADY BEEN REMOVED AND THERE WAS WAS ISSUES AT THE TIME OF MOVE IN FOR STUDENTS BUT THAT ISSUE IS VERY CLOSE TO GOING AWAY, BUT NO TRASH IN THE HALLS TODAY.
THERE ARE 3 BUILDINGS, ONLY ONE TALLEST BUILDING REQUIRES A TRASH COMPACTOR OTHER 2 BUILDINGS OCCUPANTS MUST WALK TRASH TO THE 6 YARD DUMPSTERS AT EITHER END OF THE BUILDING. THE TRASH ROOM IN EACH HALLWAY AREA IS NOT SPOTLESS BUT NOT FILLED WITH TRASH, IT HAS VERY MINOR DEBRIS AND STICKYNESS ON THE FLOORS THAT I THINK SHOULD BE EXPECTED. MAINTANENCE AND I SPOKE ABOUT POSSIBLY CLEANING THE TRASH ROOMS AND DEODERIZING THEM PERIODICALLY, THEY ALSO GET PESTCONTROL BIWEEKLY. THE ISSUE OF MAINTANENCE NOT PROPERLY MAINTAINING THE SHOOT ROOMS AND IS NOT CORRECT, IT IS MORE OF OCCUPANTS NOT HELPING TO KEEP THE AREAS CLEAN.
VISITED ROOM #2201, ROOM WAS KEPT VERY CLEAN, NO OBVIOUS SIGNS OF ROACHES OR OTHER PESTS. THE OCCUPANT SHOWED ME VIDEO OF THE THEIR HALLWAY AT THE TIME OF MOVE IN AND OF COURSE LIKE OTHER HIGH RISE COMPLEXES, MAINTANENCE WAS OVERWELMED AT THE TIME OF MOVE IN WITH PEOPLE MISS USING THE SHOOTS, PLACING THINGS THAT SHOULD NOT GO IN THE SHOOT AND COMPACTOR SHUTING DOWN. MAINTANENCE STATED IT IS A ONGOING ISSUE. UNIT 2201 IS AT THE END OF THE HALL NEXT TO THE SHOOT ROOM AND GARBAGE WAS PILED IN FRONT OF THERE DOOR. WE EXPLAINED THAT IS SHOULD NOT BE A TYPICAL OCCURANCE, OCCUPANTS STATED IT HAS NOT BEEN A RECENT PROBLEM. I ASKED IF THEY HAVE ROACHES AND INSECTS INSIDE THE UNIT, THAT THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEST CONTROL, MAINTANENCE ASKED THAT THEY CALL BIEEKLY WITH ANY PEST CONTROL ISSUES. CODE ENFORCEMENT HAS NO ISSUES WITH PROPER MAINTANENCE OF THE COMPACTOR ROOM, SURROUNDING AREAS, HALLWAYS OR SHOOT ROOMS. NO VIOLATIONS/ COMPLIANCE CLOSE CASE.
