07/01/2022 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved VISITED SITE, GATE WAS LOCKED AT THIS PROPERTY ADDRESS, THERE WERE 4 BOX TRUCKS LINED UP AGAINST THE NORTH SIDE OF THE PROPERTY CLOSER TO THE PARK. THERE WAS NOT A R/V ON THE PROPERTY, I DID NOT SEE ANYONE ON THE PROPERTY, NO TENTS OR CAMPERS AND UNSURE WHAT THE PROPERTY IS BEING USED FOR. IT USED TO BE AN ART GALLERY AND THEY SOLD MESQUITE AND CORDS OF WOOD. I DID FIND HOMELESS CAMPS IN THE PARK, PARKING LOT AND BEYOND THE PARK FENCE TO THE WEST. THERE IS A SOMEWHAT NARROW STRIP OF LAND LINED BY THE PARK FENCE ON ONE SIDE AND A 2ND FENCE ON THE RAILROAD SIDE. THERE WERE MULTIPLE HOMELESS CAMPS BETWEEN THE TWO FENCES AND THAT AREA ALSO BELONGS TO COT. I SPOKE WITH CAMPERS IN THE PARK AND ASKED IF THEY HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO STAY THERE THEY STATED PARKS AND REC EMPLOEES DRIVE BY EVERY DAY, HELP KEEP THE AREAS CLEANED AND MOVE ON BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN FORCED TO LEAVE. I CALLED PARKS AND REC SPOKE WITH PAUL LOPEZ TO INFORM HIM OF THE SITUATION, HE STATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND HAVE BASICALLY BEEN TOLD TO STAND DOWN FROM CITY OFFICIALS. HE ASKED THAT WE ALSO SEND HIM A EMAIL CONCERNING THE SITUATION.
IN REFERENCE TO COMPLAINT #T22DVO3725, 911 N 13TH AVE, I FOUND NO HOME LIVING ON THE PROPERTY, GATES WERE LOCKED, LEFT MESSAGES WITH THE OWNERS.
