06/29/2022 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a building fire in unit #419. Arrived and the sprinkler head went off in the kitchen area where the fire started on the stop which was gas. The fire burned the drywall in the rear of the stove into the wood cabinets. Had a range hood and that is total lost. The unit was flooded and went into the hallway and leaked down to the basement where the tenants don't go to. The units that are affected with water in the units are #422, #423, #418, #424, #417, #319, #323, #318, #324, #218, #219, #119, #118. Did have a company on site to extract the water and brought in some fans to push the humidity out and dry the air. The 4th floor was holding water and were working the other floors with another machine. Some of the ceiling tiles are soaked and some have fallen and some were taken down. Some of the maintenance crew were being called in to help with cleaning the units once the water has been removed. The flooring was VCT in all the units that had water and will be able to remain in the unit once they are cleaned up. The wallway areas have carpet and the company thinks they will not be removing the carpet once it is extracted. They feel that the moisture will not be much. They will check the wall and have a meter to check the level of moisture in the walls and the floor areas. The sprinkler head was replaced and the system back on line. Did call communication and let them know that the system was back on line. The company extracting the water will allow tenants back into the unit when they feel it's ready to be re-occupied. No paperwork done due to owned by the City of Tucson and they are doing the work on the clean up. The person in unit #419 will be placed in another unit. No water was leaking from the ceiling in the unit areas except in the hallways. RV. |
