06/07/2022 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Communication called and T.F.D. and T.P.D. on site with a car into building. Arrived and the units were all still on site due to active scene. The vehicle was into the southeast wall of the bottom unit of a 2-story structure. Did meet with the management and they gave permission to have the City of Tucson contractor have the unit secured once the vehicle is removed. Did call Arciaden Industries to the site to have the unit secured. Did have to wait for some time due to the site went into crime scene and detectives were doing interviews. Did remove the vehicle and had wood framing damaged by the sliding glass door on the south side and going into the corner onto the east side. Has platform framing and was damage to the wood floor above to double top plates. The bottom plate has some damage by the sliding door and all the other is OK. The bottom unit has buttress wings supports for the upper deck for the second floor and one of the wings has been removed with the framing in the wall of a built up studs to support the weight of the deck. The upper deck has cantilever floor joist for the deck on the upper floor. The top double plates are still in place. Placed some supports shoring for the second floor and place plywood over the openings. Was able to leave the electrical on due to had one outlet and the wiring in the wall was cut and was taped on the ends to have the electrical turned back on. Has no gas to the unit and all electrical. The front door was kicked in and damage to the door and the wood door jamb. Damage to the wood framing is 16 l.f. x 8' high and the double wood header overr the sliding glass door will need to be checked if re-used. The sliding glass door is broken and had one electrical outlet in the wall that was removed. The heating and cooling has no issues and the plumbing has no leaks at this time. The management signed the paperwork and also asked if the windows could be secured due to area of being vandalized. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on the front opening and the front was covered with plywood. The tenants were able to gather some of the belongings for a couple of days and were advised that they will need to meet with the management to re-enter the unit. The damage was contained to the living room area and all the other rooms are OK at this time. RV. |
