Permit status: partial approval

Codes: Unified Development Coe Sign Standards 7A, National Electrical Code (NEC), Tucson-Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC 2018).

1. Development package and building plans have yet to be approved for this building remodel. The sign permit package has been reviewed under assumption these plans will be approved with the sought site / building changes, and the sign permit would then be able to be issued, once the following items are addressed:

2. UDC 7A: Proposed sign area is within allowance for commercial uses in PAD-3 zoning.



3. NEC 600:
A. Label location of disconnect for all signs - i.e. breaker panel / riser room, for example. Note that at inspection, the means of disconnect must be shown to inspector.
B. Be advised that at inspection, breaker panel - fully labeled with each sign circuit, must be shown.

4. OLC
A. Time clock / central timer control to be provided, and shown to inspector. Note on plans where the central timing device is at.

5. IBC
A. Clarify if "Home & Pharmacy" sign F and "Grocery" sign H are each to be replaced, as conflicting elevation notes list, versus same sheets shows the signs to remain… If these signs are being removed and replaced, it should be shown as new signs on the drawings and include mounting details for each.


6. Addressing - courtesy FYI from Tucson Fire - addressing will have to be 15" tall at this location due to building setback from the curb.
Commercial Building < 50 feet from the curb require 12" numbers displayed on the building
Buildings > 50 feet from the curb require 15" numbers displayed on the building
The complete address shall be displayed on all corner buildings
Addresses shall be displayed and visible from both directions of approaching vehicles
