Thrall Date: 2/28/22 Permit: T21OT00581 (revision) Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A Sign Standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), Tucson-Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC) 2018 1) UDC 7A Sign Standards: a) Provide permit application b) Sign area requires revision - include the area on the "topper" that reads "Mission Plaza" and fully dimension. (**SDRC case required for exceeding 72 sqft sign area of pole sign **) c) Call out the topper as a site identifier for clarification that this is an area in addition to the maximum of 8 tenant panels below the topper element d) Height of the sign is to be taken from top of street curb to top of the sign topper, as the name of the plaza is on this sign element. e) Side view of the sign does not match the base, update to show rock f) Prior SDRC case was for a monument sign reduced setback. ***This revision from a monument to a pole sign category requires this case to change to a reduction for a setback for a pole sign to be reduced from 30' to 12' from curb.*** g) Revise Speedway sign setback diagram to indicate pole sign, not a monument sign. h) Did the SWAN monument get installed under permit T21OT00581 from the original SDRC case? If so, show the picture of that sign installation on the diagram for the revised SDRC case. If not, and if it will not be installed, specify by sending letter to staff on your company letterhead or email indicating the sign will not be installed and it will be added to the permit file. 2) NEC: No comments 3) OLC: a) Note that the shut off for the timer is a curfew of midnight 4) IBC: a) this is an old, existing sign base, footer unknown at this time. Verify footer size and integrity to support larger cabinet (i.e. with an underground probe inspection? Engineer can do) b) sign support pole - has this been verified for the size ? The following review applies to construction aspects for the permit record. 2. Resubmittal has a 2nd sign - a replacement sign, for Swan side. 3) Structural: B) indicate how cabinet mounted to pipe (i.e. bolted saddle at top, etc.) size and number of bolts? 4) Site plan: A) provide enlarged site plan that shows property line and sight visibility triangle off Swan B) provide 2' setback from the parking area access lane to the western leading edge of the sign C) dimension the island and indicate 18 inches provided adjacent to parking space D) dimension that the sign is 2' away from driveway curb edging to the south E) indicate if the landscaping will be removed F) take the sign setback from the flat face of Swan street curb to the eastern leading edge of the sign (provide 20' minimum) and ensure sign on private property (mark lot line / show lot line on plan).
