Entered by HTHRALL1 - RE: signage review
Site: 5500 E 22nd / C-1 - Walmart Neighborhood Market
Sign permit: T21OT00345
Reviewer: H. Thrall
Date: 5/5/21
Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) Sign Standards Article 7A, National Electrical Code (NEC) 600, Tucson Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) Chapters 4 & 5, International Building Code (IBC 2018)
Permit Status: Partial Approval
1) UDC: 7A.10.2.B - frontage for location is only along Craycroft, north building elevation - at 240' from west end to east end at pharmacy drive up portico- revise application sheet notes and on elevation sheets, including page 12. (Sign area shown is still within allowance of both the 720 sqft maximum and well under covering 30% maximum allowance for each building elevation. This information is for permit record and to track sign area used.
2) NEC / OLC:
On illuminated wall signage, ID colors of the acrylic faces. Plan proposes use of white LEDs. Are the acrylic faces also white or clear covers? OLC requires faces to conceal light source within the sign, hence the clarification requested. (No issue with monument faces, that info is on there with lexan and colors ID'd.)
3) IBC 2018: No comments - thank you.
