06/07/2021 COT - ENGR - Signage Final hthrall1 Approved Entered by HTHRALL1 - TRE 2020-220A issued on 6/7/21 - received copy from DTM Real Estate staff for the sign pemit file.
05/13/2021 COT - ENGR - Signage Final Hthrall Approved Entered by HTHRALL1 - TRE 2020-220 has been approved, per Scott Weber at DTM. Sign permit to be issued upon TRE issuance. Sign is to be in perpendicular orientation of the sign to the street per the TRE submitted.
03/30/2021 COT - ENGR - Signage Final Hthrall Continued Entered by HTHRALL1 - from prelim discussion on 3/24 before application: RE: low-profile sign design - freestanding sign type For: 141 S Stone Avenue / Hampton Inn -Home 2 Suites Good afternoon Wendy - thank you for the phone meeting today to discuss this project. The engineer for the development plan (attached) has not changed the location of the Temporary Revocable Easement (TRE) request (also attached). We can work within the original TRE filed. In our discussion - we found that per the above referenced documents, that you have nearly a 9'8" setback possible for this sign, as taken from that furthest rounded curb out there by Stone / Ochoa. No vehicle sight visibility triangle is present due to very unusual circumstances on Ochoa - and only pedestrian SVT's apply at the exit point. The sign is at an entry point to the hotel site - driveway in. To get the sign permitted immediately under the TRE in process, case 2020-220. The sign is short in height. This opened a different door for you in code avenues. You'll need to raise the height a bit, but keep it under 4'6" max. See below. A) provide a 2' tall base (or skirt) to run the full length of this sign cabinet. (Changes it from a monument to a low-profile sign, which has a setback equal to 2 x sign height, which you have to work with.) B) locate the sign in the same position on the TRE - at that angle in the attached drawing No engineering needed for structural. I've let the Real Estate folks know we can move forward with the TRE on our end (PDSD sign review) with the new sign design. Please let me know if you have any questions.
04/16/2021 COT - ENGR - Signage Final Hthrall Continued Entered by HTHRALL1 - RE: sign orientation For: low-profile freestanding sign in right of way AT: 141 S Stone Av / Hampton Inn - Home 2 Suites Good morning Theresa & Wendy - I hope this email finds you both doing well. I'm sending this email to both of you, as I think this request is going to require both of your knowledge sets. I can immediately approve both the TRE and the sign permit on behalf of PDSD if the following path forward is taken: A ) agree that the , not the development plan sign orientation B ) provide a minimum of 8' setback from outermost (northern) street curb at the corner of Stone /Ochoa to the leading edge of the sign C ) *I need a drawing to show the sign location in detail On item A - see attached development plan - shows the sign by the driveway entry at an angle to Ochoa, which would be fine and meet setbacks - but does not match the TRE. The TRE shows the sign oriented perpendicular to Ochoa, with a 6' long area in front of property line. The sign is 5'6" long and will fit into this space just fine. The sign width - including footer underground, will also fit. On item B - I have taken the plan sets and measured in Bluebeam Revu system and determined the 8' minimum setback can be provided. (Off the DP, I took a straight line from the northernmost street curb at Ochoa / Stone, continued east to the sign location, and measured an 8' setback was possible to the sign location as shown on the TRE.) I have no other concerns with this low-profile sign design. I can approve this sign permit in our system once I get a plan that shows the sign will meet exactly where the TRE is shown. * The plan will need to have a combo of both the DP data and the TRE data for inspections and sign placement. Show: a 40.19' setback from the Stone P.Line to the sign, 8' setback from Ochoa side curb to sign (show a straight line out from Ochoa curb to the sign and show the 8' setback distance) show street curbs, show the driveway, the Stone and Ochoa property lines, label Ochoa street and the sign location to match the TRE on the plan.
