11/04/2021 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD INVESTIGATORS WHO STATED ONE OF THE LARGE DRYERS IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM HAD CAUGHT FIRE BUT IT WAS NOT THE DRYER ITSELF, IT WAS THE CONTENTS INSIDE THE DRYER THAT ACTUALLY CAUGHT FIRE. I SPOKE TO S/W GAS, THEY HAD CONDUCTED A LINE TEST FOUND NO GAS LEAKS IN THE SURROUNGING AREA. THE DRYERS HAD A ELECTRICAL DISCONNECT TO EACH INDIVIDUAL DRYER BEHIND THE DRYER. A SPRINKLER HEAD HAD DEPLOYED BEHIND THE DRYER CAUSING ALONT OF WATER ON THE FLOOR. CINTAS WAS ON SITE, HAD ALREADY DRAINED THE WATER LINE, AND WAS PREPARING TO REPLACE THE SPRINKLER HEAD. S/W GAS TAGGED THE DRYERS, AND MAINTANENCE WAS MOPPING UP ALL THE WATER AND CLEANING FLOORS. TFD HAD TURNED OFF THE ELECTRIC TO THE LAUNDRY ROOM AREA AND SURROUNDING ROOMS. MYSELF AND TWO OTHER MAINTANENCE PESONEL HELPED TO RESTORE ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO THE PANELS. WASHERS, DRYERS AND COOLERS WERE LEFT OFF AT THIS TIME. OWNERS HAD MADE CONTACT WITH THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPLY AND MAINTAIN THE DRYERS. THE DRYERS ARE TO BE REPLACED TOMORROW 11/05. NOV WAS NOT REQUIRED AS ALL ISSUES WERE ADDRESS AND ABATED WHILE ON SITE. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. |
