Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and all the units have left the site. The fire was on the store front sign at the roof area. The contractor for the business was on the roof to check the damage on what has been cut to check for fire. The roof was vented and was able to check the area of the wiring to the sign. There was no structual damage to the wood trusses or the shearing at the facade at the overhang. No smoke entered the interior of the store and no fire damage to the interior of the store. Some plywood burned where the nails or screws were touching the signs metal frame. The electrical was turned off at the disconnects in the rear of the building by the T.F.D. to the building and will be able to be turned back on once the sign electrical has been removed to the sign. The contractor will cover the hole on the venting and will seal the area to have the area sealed incase of rain. The store manager signed the paperwork while on site. Did review with the manager that if the sign is replaced that a permit will be required. The store will be able to re-opened once they call that the work has been completed. RV. |
