POLICE ARREST ONE TRANSIENT INSIDE THE BUILDING IN THE SECOND STORY. THE BOARDED SECUREMENT TO STAIRWAYS THAT LEAD TO FROM THE GROUND FLOOR TO THE SECOND STORY WAS REMOVED AND THE GUARDS AND STAIRS HAVE BEEN DESTROYED. CITY OF TUCSON ACTION I DID HAVE ALL OPENINGS RE-SECURED BY BOARDING AND HAD ALL OPEN FENCE PANELS RE-SECURED. AT THE PROPERTIES ADDRESSED AT 801 AND 805 E 4TH ST. TO PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY OR ALLOW FIRST RESPONDERS ACCESS 10 FEET OF THE STAIRWAY FROM THE GROUND FLOOR TO THE SECOND STORY LANDING WAS DEMOLISHED. THESE STAIRWAYS HAVE HAD SECUREMENT TO PREVENT ACCESS TO THE SECOND STORY REMOVED AND DESTROYED IN THE PAST. THE CURRENT STATE OF THE STAIRWAYS ARE UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS. THE CITY OF TUCSON EXERCISED ITS AUTHORITY TO MAKE THE BUILDING'S AND PROPERTY AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE. THIS PROPERTY WAS IDENTIFIED ON 05/14/2021 AS VACANT AND NEGLECTED PROPERTY. THESE PROPERTIES IN THEIR CURRENT STATE CONTINUE TO BE AN ATTRACTIVE FOR TRANSIENTS TO HARBOR AND COMMIT UNLAWFUL ACTS. |
