05/04/2021 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD INVESTIGATORS WHO STATED THAT WHEN HEY ARRIVED THE LAUNDRY ROOM DOOR WAS OPEN, THE SIGN ON THE DOOR STATES LAUNDRY ROOM DOES NOT OPEN UNTIL 9 AM UNTIL 4 PM AND CLOSED DURING THE EVENINGS. THE REASON IS BECAUSE OF THE HOMELESS THAT FREQUENT THE AREA AND SOMETIMES FOUND SLEEPING IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM. THE DRYER HAD BEEN USED AND FIRE STARTED FROM A CLOGGED DRYER VENT ON THE DRYER AT THE NORTH END. OF 10 DRYERS, DRYERS WERE STACKED AND 3 DRYERS, MAYBE 4 WERE FIRE DAMAGED. THE CEILING ABOVE THE DRYERS WAS FIRE DAMAGED ABOUT A 4 FT X 12 FT AREA OF THE CEILING WAS REMOVED BY TFD, THERE WAS NO FIRE DAMAGE TO THE RAFTERS. FINDINGS AS FOLLOWS: >TFD CONTACTED TEP WHO SHUT OFF POWER AT THE SERVICE PANEL AND LOCKED OUT THE METER. PANEL WAS MISSING DEAD FRONT BUT REPLACED WHILE ON SITE. PANEL FEEDS THE POWER TO THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS, POOL LIGHTS, THE MAINTANENCE SHOP AND LAUNDRY ROOM. RECONNECT PERMIT WILL BE REQUIRED. >S/W GAS WAS CONTACTED BY TFD ARRIVED ON SITE, TURNED THE GAS OFF AND METER TAKEN APART. LINE CHECK TURNED OUT OK BUT IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE INTERIOR DUCT WORK OR VENTS THAT ARE VENTED THRU THE CEILING MAY NEED TO BE CHECKED AND CLEANED, CODE IS THAT THE VENTS NEED TO BE 1 INCH APART AND FOUND RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. VENTS WILL NEED TO BE BROUGHT UP TO CODE AND POSSIBLY REPLACED. > A 4FT X 12 FT SECTION O F DRY WALL WAS FIRE DAMAGED AND REMOVED. INSULATION WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AND DRYWALL REPLACED, TAPED AND TEXTURED. >THE LAUNDRY ROOM RECEIVED HEAVY SMOKE DAMAGE. IT WAS SUGGESTED WALLS BE CLEANED AND THE ENTIRE LAUNDYROOM PAINTED. >FLOOR TILES WERE COMING UP BECAUSE OF THE WATER DAMAGE. >WASHING MACHINES WERE NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED AND MISSING THE FINISH PLATES TO ALL WATER BOX COVERS. NOV WAS ISSUED FOR ALL REPAIRS TO BE COMPLETED UNDER PERMIT, GAS AND ELECTRICAL RECONNECT PERMITS INCLUDED. NOV SIGNED FOR BY NEW MANAGER LEONA, 45 DAY TIME FRAME. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. |
