04/26/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Communication called that T.F.D. on site with an apartment fire in the kitchen. Arrived all the units were still on site and were in the processing of cleaning up and starting to leave the site. The fire investigator was on site checking for cause. The fire was contained to the kitchen area but has heavy smoke damage through out the unit. The curtains started to burn in the bedrooms and melted the vinyl mini blinds through out. The flooring has water from the fire being put out. The windows in the kitchen area were broken from the heat of the fire. The tenant was placed in another unit on the property and will come back in a few days to remove what they can to take to the other unit that is saveble from the fire or the heat of the fire. Appears that the stove was left on and the pot burned and started the cabinets in the kitchen area on fire. The drywall was burned in the kitchen area 4' above the floor to the ceiling. The light fixtures in the ceilings are melted or fell to the ground. The electrical meter was blanked due to the fire damage and has no gas. The management was not able to get the property secured and gave permission to call the City of Tucson contractor to the site to secure the site. The manager was on site and signed the paperwork on site. Unit 614 was damage where the door was forced opened to check for fire extension and found no fire damage. The maintenance man on site will repair the door jamb to lock the door tonight and will redo the work to complete the repair at daylight hour. RV.
