03/30/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved VISITED SITE, MET WITH TFD FIRE INVESTIGATORS, FOUND INTERIOR STORAGE AREA OF MARSHALLS DEPT STORE WAS SMOKEY FROM A COMPACTOR FIRE. AREA WAS BEING AIRED OUT, MULTIPLE FANS IN THE STORAGE AREA WERE RUNNING AND DOORS OPEN. TFD HAD TURNED POWER OFF TO THE TRASH COMPACTOR REST OF THE STORE REMAINED ON, HOWEVER STORE HAD BEEN EVACUATED BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE. THE CARDBOARD INSIDE THE COMPACTOR CONTINUED TO BURN FOR QUITE A WHILE. STORE MANAGER HAD CONTACTED RUBICON GLOBAL WASTE DIVISION CONCERNING THE COMPACTOR, THEY TOLD THE MANAGER SOMEBODY WOULD BE COMING OUT BUT DID NOT HAVE A ETA. SEVERAL CALLS WERE MADE AS FOLLOW UPS BUT A ETA NOT GIVEN. TFD DETERMINED THAT THE BEST THING TO DO WOULD BE TO PULL THE COMPACTOR OUT OF THE SPACE SO THERE WOULD BE NO FIRE DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING, AND AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NOTHING FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT TO FOLLOW UP WITH, WILL FOLLOW UP TOMORROW TO MAKE SURE COMPACTOR WAS REMOVED.
