03/19/2021 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved VISITED SITE, A DEEP LOT WITH A HOUSE AND DUPLEX BEHIND THE HOUSE. AT THE VERY NORTH SIDE OR END OF THE LOT WAS A STRUCTURE THAT WAS PARTIALLY USED AS A WORKSHOP AND JUST A RAMADA SECTION. NEXT TO THE STRUCTURE WAS A SMALL METAL SHED. THE STRUCTURE WAS COMPLETELY FENCED BY A 6FT BLOCK WALL ON THE WEST SIDE, A 8 FT BLOCK WALL ON THE NORTH SIDE A WOODEN FENCE THAT SEPERATED THIS STRUCTURE FROM THE HOUSE AND DUPLEX, THERE WAS NO GATE TO ENTER THE AREA, AND ON THE EAST SIDE WAS A 4'-6" CHAIN LINK FENCE WITH A GATE THAT WAS CHAINED AND LOCKED. A HOLE HAD BEEN CUT IN THE CHAIN LINK FENCE AND THE VACANT LOT TO THE EAST HAD ABANDONED HOMELESS CAMPS, TRASH AND DEBRIS. THE FENCE AT THE FRONT OF THE VACANT LOT WAS OLD WITH A GATE AND FENCE THAT WAS FALLING DOWN, GETTING INTO THE LOT WAS NOT A ISSUE.
THE WORKSHOP/ RAMADA STRUCTURE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS, THE WORK SHOP AREA WAS PARTIALLY STANDING, BUT NOT IDENTIFIABLE AND THE RAMADA PORTION WAS COMPLETELY DOWN. THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT IN THE BACK OR NORTH SECTION BUT BURNED TIMBER.
SPOKE TO ONE OF THE TENANTS WHO GAVE THE OWNER INFORMATION AND INFORMED ME THAT THE VACANT LOT WAS A SUPER HIGHWAY FOR THE HOMELESS WHO WERE SEEN AND HEARD THERE NIGHT AND DAY. I TRIED CONTACTING THE OWNERS AND LEFT A MESSAGE. TFD DID MAKE CONTACT EARLIER WITH THE OWNERS WHO WERE PRESENTLY IN WASHINGTON STATE SELLING THERE HOUSE AND WOULD BE BACK ON MONDAY 3/22/21.
I LATER RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE OWNERS WHO MENTIONED THEY ARE NOW LIVING IN CASA GRANDE, WILL BE DOWN PROBABLY TUESDAY 3/23 TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. I EXPLAINED THE FENCE THAT WAS SEPERATING THE BURNED BUILDING FROM THE TRIPLEX WAS STANDING BUT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. OWNERS ARE AWARE OF THE HOMELESS ISSUE AND ARE WILLING TO FENCE OFF THE EAST PORTION OF THEIR LOT TO KEEP THE HOMELESS OUT. I ALSO ASKED THAT THE FIRE THE SMALL PORTION OF WORKSHOP REMAINING BE TAKEN DOWN, THE AREA CLEANED AND AGAIN THE FENCE REPAIRED. NOV WOULD BE ISSUED AND DELIVERED TO THE CASA GRANDE ADDRESS.
