Newcomb (Structural) Date: 01/07/2021 Codes: International Building Code (IBC) 2018, National Electrical Code (NEC), Tucson-Pima County Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A Sign Standards 1. Site is within an Infill Incentive District. Design Professional has confirmed the signs are not further regulated by the IID. 2. While total sign area is in compliance (3 x street frontage), the actual street frontages shown on the location plan need to be revised to show just this property, (direct property street frontage) and exclude the parcels adjacent. 3. Jodie Brown, City Historic Preservation Officer (CHPO), is reviewing the proposal and any comments she provides will be forwarded. (As she reviewed the site for historic neighborhood compatibility within the IID, she is consulted here as well.) Regarding NEC / OLC: 4. Provide note each sign shall have a maximum light brightness of 4400K (acknowledge use o4100k tetra pak, for clarity on allowed light brightness, please provide note for future light change out). 5. Note location of each sign timer for inspections. 6. While acknowledged the faces have different vinyl colors, and light is provided via a white LED pack within the letter, it is unclear if an intent or idea is forming to appear to alternate light appearance on the sign. To clarify allowances, provide note - lighting shall be static, without animation. (Any change to light shall be a max of 1 time per minute, involve the entire sign and be done on one transitional movement.) Regarding Mounting / IBC: 7. Provide notation on typical size and number of screws / fasteners to be used for sign mounting. 8. Provide notation on power pack mounting 9. On signs over 30' off ground, provide engineered mounting detail, and have engineer seal this special inspection form to appoint qualified inspector.
