Thrall Date: 06/19/2020 Zoning: PAD-15 / The Bridges - DRC letter of approval for signage required / provided Codes: Sign Standards - Chapter 7A of the Unified Development Code (UDC), International Building Code (IBC) 2018, National Electrical Code NEC 600, and Outdoor Lighting Code. 1) OUTDOOR LIGHTING CODE (CITY OF TUCSON / PIMA COUNTY CH. 4 & 5): A) on all sign sheets - add note that "internally illuminated signs shall not exceed 4400k color temperature" B) on all sign sheets - add note that "each sign is on a timer, to shut off at midnight curfew or when business closes, if later" C) on each sign sheet - list the location of the timer for inspectionsj D) sign "C" canopy sign on the application shows external "up lighting" not permitted in the Outdoor Lighting Code - revise lighting method. 2) NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE (NEC 600) A) building plan T19CM02056 - sheet E1. shows the electrical for all signage will be run by the GC and subs for this site. B) provide note on page 11 - directional signs - are these really fluorescent signs? LED usual - clarify C) provide note on page 11 - directional signs - list the volts, amps, circuits, transformer location - if fluorescent - and show shut off switch D) monument sign - page 8 - clarify if really fluorescent - typical is now LED. E) monument sign - page 8 - provide volts, amps, circuit, location of dedicated circuit and show shut off switch. If truly fluorescent, add transformer information. F) wall sign "D" - remove reference to electrical specifications (middle right part of drawing) 3) INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE (IBC) 2018 Awning review: A) Canopy engineering approved B) awning engineering has been approved C) awning diagram within the sign package does not match the awning diagram in the engineering set (awning in package does not have a "bottom" piece, like is shown in the diagram. Provide bolt specs for this awning "L" in the sign package, or revise to match the diagram shown in the engineering set of diagrams. Drive thru signs (reviewed for install / electrical compliance - the location of these signs renders them "interior site signs" and meant for on site users, which indicates the signs do no count toward sign area or type. A) Provide note on directional signs as to size of footer B) List the bolts / screws and method of attachment for cabinet to support post Monument sign - A) Engineering submitted is approved for footer size / post size. Drive - Thru menu boards A) Pages 6 & 7 of the package, note on each "see engineering provided". B) Engineering is approved for the clearance bar. C) Engineering for the canopy order station has been approved. (received in two sets) Wall signs: A) Provide type and size of mounts for the non-illuminated wall sign "D" (page 4 of the plan set) B) Provide mounting for both lettering and the electrical box for the Canopy sign (sign C) C) Provide mounting for the sign and power pack for sign A and sign B 4.) SIGN STANDARDS - UDC 7A A) permit application - sign C is a "canopy sign" or "C" for sign type B) permit application - sign H is a "monument sign" or "DF" for sign type C) permit application - add note for frontage "Kino Pkwy property line frontage is 140' long" D) Sign E - on west elevation - provide calculation showing the wall sign does not exceed 30% coverage of the west building façade. (7A.10.2.B.) E) Monument sign - provide dimensioned pictoral elevation view of appearance with copy, and dimensioned side view with any raised copy shown.
