Thrall Date: 4/23/2020 Codes: National Electrical Code (NEC) 600, Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC), International Building Code (IBC) 2018, Unified Development Code (UDC) 7A. Sign Standards 1) Proposal entails wall signs, access point signs, pole sign. Contractor was emailed with submittal inquiring for inventory of freestanding signs, with clarification of intention to reduce sign heights to meet code. Awaiting response with updated plans. Staff providing formal review of 4/10/2020 submittal. Pending SDRC process, potential. Wall signs: A) indicate where dedicated circuit panel is within building for inspections B) add mounting note for power supply C) wall signs can be permitted directly, if desired - from other signs Access point signs: D) Sign D and I can be considered an interior site signs due to location at service drive, meant for on site users. Sign height and area accepted. E) Electrical and Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) of sign D accepted. F) List construction assembly of Sign D (i.e. saddle/bolt system at top/bottom and sizes of bolts and number used?) G) Signs E, F, G & H are access point signs near the street, meant for wayfinding. Such signs may be up to 4' tall per PDSD policy shared with contractor. Signs shown exceed that height. Reduce. H) sign area of access point signs E-H accepted at 10.59 square feet due to acreage of site exceeding 1 acre. I) Note how signs D-H are constructed to be mounted to support column. (i.e. saddle/bolt system at top/bottom and size / number of bolts used?) Pole sign: J) Provide inventory of numbe of freestanding signs on site plan. (contractor indicated in email 5 were present, sufficient frontage for 6 freestanding signs). K) Provide clarification if any other pole signs present (any signs over 50 sqft in area or exceed 10' tall) L) Proposed pole sign exceeds the sign area of a pole sign, 7A.10.2.C.2 (max 72 squre feet) M) Proposed pole sign exceeds the height of a pole sign, 7A.10.2.C.2 (max 12' height) N) Proposed pole sign is at a reduced setback than required for a pole sign 7A.10.2.C.2 (minimum 30') O) If it is the intention for the applicant to request a Singular Sign Design Option (SSDO), please contact staff for further assistance on the process. Please examine Section 7A.7.1. of the UDC Sign Standards to review the design criteria and findings (under the Master Sign Program list) for an SSDO to be reviewed by the Sign Design Review Committee (SDRC).
