Scenic District only permits lit to be emitted from sympbols or text. (UDC 7A.11.1.3.) 2) Understood sign will meet setbacks, provide: A) clarify whether 12 or 15' setback is provided from property line for sign off Bear Canyon, as two drawings conflict (drawings 6 & 7) B) on the site plan views for both signs, provide distance from leading edge of sign to the face of curb for inspections. (Acknowledged the 20' minimum mark on the plan, and the 7.5' from back of property line, but there is no distance from curb to p.line - provide overall dimensions. Thrall Date: 1/27/2020 Codes: Unified Development Code (UDC) Sign Standards, 7A National Electrical Code (NEC 600), International Building Code 2018 (IBC), Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) 1) Acknowledged sign area and sign heights within scenic district allowances on both street fronts, and prior existing freestanding signs to be removed from both Catalina Highway and Bear Canyon. 2) Sign Lighting: UDC 7A.7.1.11.3 - in Scenic District, light may emit only through letters and symbols, or may be halo lit. A) Provide night view for sign A along Catalina Highway to show sign lighting pattern is in compliance. B) Clarify if the canyon on Sign A is a logo, given the complex name. 3) Sign setbacks - UDC 7A.10.2.C. - monument sign setbacks are 20' from street curb (in addition to the 7.5' setback from p.line in scenic, as shown on submitted plans). A) On sheet 3 of 5, and sheet 5 o 5, also provide the 20' minimum setback dimension from street curb to leading edge of sign (each sign). 4) On sheets 3 & 5, please provide street names (acknowledge accompanying site plan for reference). 5) Acknowledged electrical, outdoor lighting code notes within compliance. One clarification, for inspections: A) clarify how/who is running power to the sign (if by others needs separate electrical permit) B) identify location of dedicated circuit breaker panel serving the sign on Catalina Highway 6) Regarding construction detail: A) Identify any field welds for metal cabinet and note those require special inspections and engineered plans B) Identify how the metal cabinet frame will be mounted within the masonry base. (notes indicate bolting system, ID bolt size / number) C) UDC 7A.1.1.F.
