The sprinkler head went off due to the person in the unit place a lighter to the sprinkler head and it went off. The unit was on the 8th floor and the lower units were damaged with water running down the walls in the hallway. Did check the units on the 8th floor and stopped on the 5th floor due to was finding less water in the units and the hallway. The fire sprinkler system was off only on the 8th floor with all the other floors still on the system. Checked units from 815 to 826 on the 8th floor, 715 to 726 on the 7th floor, 615 to 626 on the 6th floor and 517 to 524 on the 5th floor. The maintenance crew was on site extracting water and has called a company to come to the site to etract the water and place blower fans for the carpets in the hallway. The tenants were let back into the units once the units were checked for water in the units. No N.O.V. was issued due to the building is maintained by the City of Tucson and they will be taking over the case. The company for the repairs of the spinkler head was on site when leaving the site.
