THE BUILDING DAMAGE COULD NOT BE INSPECTED DUE TO AN UNCONTAINED CHEMICAL WHICH IS AIR BORNE. MANAGEMENT DOES NOT HAVE ANY EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS OR PROCEDURES, THE MSDS WAS NOT ACCESSIBLE. ON SITE WERE TFD INVESTIGATORS AND THE COMPANY MANAGEMENT, INVESTIGATORS COULD NOT CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION DUE THE SPREAD OF THE CHEMICAL. CODE ENFORCEMENT ORDERED THE POWER TO BE DISCONNECTED AND CONDEMNED THE BUILDING. AT THIS TIME, CODE ENFORCEMENT CONCERNS WERE AS FOLLOWS: NO INFORMATION ON THE CHEMICALS REACTION UNDER THE CURRENT CONDITIONS, NO ACCESS TO MSDS, THE COMPANY HAS NO EMERGENCY CONTINGENCY PLAN. AT THIS TIME CONTACT WITH TFD INCIDENTS CHIEF LEAD TO THE HAZ MAT TEAM TO BE DISPATCHED TO THE SITE. THE TEAM ARRIVED AND WAS BROUGHT UP TO SPEED ON THE CURRENT CONDITIONS. THE TEAM DID CONTACT SOUTHWEST HAZARD BUT THEY STATED THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO AIRBORNE CHEMICAL AGENTS. AT THIS TIME HAZ MAT DID STATED THAT AN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST WILL BE REQUIRED TO CREATE A PLAN TO BREACH AND EVACUATE THE CHEMICAL AGENT. CODE ENFORCEMENT DID ISSUE THE ORDER TO COMPLY WITH THE STEPS AS FOLLOWS: THE BUILDING WILL REMAIN CONDEMNED, NO ACCESS. THE POWER WILL REMAIN SHUT OFF DUE TO UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF THE FIRE DAMAGE AND WATER DAMAGED CAUSED BY THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM. THE BUILDING SHALL BE SECURED TO PREVENT ENTRY BY MANAGEMENT AN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST SHALL SURVEY AND CREATE A PLAN TO BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY TFD FOR THE PURPOSE OF REMOVAL/ CONTAINING THE CHEMICAL AGENT. ONCE THE PLAN IS APPROVED AND THE ABATEMENT COMPLETED, TFD SHALL ALERT TFD INVESTIGATORS TO CONDUCT THE FIRE INVESTIGATION. TFD WILL ALERT CODE ENFORCEMENT THAT THE BUILDING IS READY FOR THE FIRE INSPECTION. CODE ENFORCEMENT WILL CONDUCT THE INSPECTION AND DETERMINE THE COURSE OF ACTION DEPENDING ON DAMAGE. |

DUE TO EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME ON STAND-BY, SUPERVISOR REQUESTED ANOTHER INSPECTOR TO RESPOND. ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE BUILDING HAS BEEN TURNED OFF BY TUCSON FIRE UNTIL FIRE DAMAGE CAN BE SAFELY EVALUATED. |
