The fire was on the exterior of the building on the northwest corner of the building. The fire was contained to the exterior and some ceiling tile and metal grid was damage in the drop ceiling to check the area on the interior for fire and found none. Some smoke was coming through the gaps and that was sprayed with water to make sure no fire was in the area. The business was closed at this time and was not able to locate the owner of the property or the owner of the business. The electric and the gas was removed due to the fire damage at the meters. The fire got into the soffit for the roof and burned some of the covering for the roof and the signage for the business. No damage to the roof system. Has charring on the wood framing where filled in for a masonry wall for the main structure where connected to the window store front for the main lobby for the seating area of a restuarant. The fire investigators determined that a homeless camp was set up that a fire started in the camp area. The gas meter was off at the main valve and not by the fire department. Due to no owner on site did the posting of the paperwork on the front window and posted Do Not Enter also on the front window. The pad lock on the front door was cut off to make entry into the building. The lock was on a hasp and that was repaired and a city lock was placed to have the building secured. RV.
