03/04/2020 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | VISITED SITE, MET WITH TPD OFFICERS WHO INFORMED ME THAT CAR HAD BEEN REMOVED AND TFD SHUT THE WATER OFF ENTERING BUILDING "S". OWNER OF CONDO #345 HAD STEPPED ON THE GAS INSTEAD OF HITTING THE BRAKE AND JUMPED THE CURB AND ENTERED THE EAST WALL OF HIS UNIT #345. ELDERLY OWNER APPROX 78 YRS OLD WAS SHAKEN BUT OK. INSPECTION FOUND A HOLE IN THE STUCCO APPROX 4 FT X 6FT, 1 STUD SHEARED OFF AT ITS BASE. DRYWALL INSIDE DAMAGED APPROX 2 FT X 4 FT, WATER MAIN ENTERING BUILDING S WAS DAMAGED AND TURNED OFF BY TFD, AND ELECTRICAL IN CONDUIT RUNNING TO A EXTERIOR LIGHT ALSO DAMAGED. NONE OF THE DAMAGE WAS SERIOUS. I CHECKED UNIT 345 AND ALL ELECTRICAL REMAINED ON, NO KICKED BREAKERS. THE HOT WATER REMAINED ON INSIDE THE UNIT AND COLD WATER WAS OFF. I CHECKED 4 OTHER UNITS THAT HAD THE SAME SITUATION. UNITS WERE PROBABLY PULLING HOT WATER FROM THE BOILERS. ARCADIAN IND. ARRIVED AND SECURED THE HOLE IN THE WALL. ALL DAMAGE WAS FOUND WITHIN THE S/E BEDROOM CLOSET. THERE WERE NO OTHER INTERIOR HAZARDS, OCCUPANT WAS ALLOWED TO STAY IN HIS UNIT WITH HIS SON. CAR WAS REMOVED BY GARYS TOWING AND CALLED BY TPD.
