Placement off Sabino Canyon side, no scenic buffer, 42 sq.ft. sign area. 20' setback in right of way (TRE). Non-illuminated. Need to add note to "round" the sign edging to ensure it's safely erected. | 10/28/2019 | SIGN SITE REVIEW | Continued | RE: monument sign review For: 7000 E Tanque Verde / Desert Art Museum Permit: T19OT00966 Date: 10/25/19 Reviewer: H. Thrall 1) Applicable sign district is scenic (7A.11.3.), as development (even without lot on corner) is within 400' of the end route of Sabino Canyon Road. 2) Lot on the corner of Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon is part of the overall shopping center development, please revise plan to include frontage to include this lot along both streets. 3) Prior variance case S-00-07 is in place for the3 existing freestanding signs on Tanque Verde. 4) To exceed prior variance and retain it, to add another freestanding sign along Tanque Verde Road, requires a Singular Sign Design Option. Prior to submitting for an SSDO review, examine the sign design criteria and compare to existing signs and existing buildings with colors, shapes and materials (two are illuminated as well). 5) On the location map, show placement of all existing freestanding signs and include signs embedded in the site perimeter wall. Note that those signs may become a master sign program (more than one sign within the package, rather than just one sign in the request) 6) Tanque Verde at this part is an arterial. To have the sign in the right of way requires a temporary revocable easement. Please submit revisions and SSDO application with ownership permission to Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov |
