06/27/2019 | COT - ENGR - Signage Final | Hthrall | Approved | Entered by HTHRALL1 - RE: Permit T19OT00476 (Resubmittal 6/23/19) For: New wall signs and change copy on DF monument AT: 6167 E Speedway Reviewer: H. Thrall Date: 6/27/19 1) Thank you for addressing all review comments with clear information and updated diagrams for permit records. 2) Noted that the building permit for the wall fascia where the new wall signs will be mounted has been renewed (T13CM07789) and inspections in final stage per Inspector Matt Ramber. The wall sign permit can be released. Please contiue with the final inspection for the wall fascia. 3) Noted and appreciated for the corrections noting the freestanding sign position along Speedway frontage, not straddling both Speedway/Rook - and that the digital components were removed. Change of copy may proceed on both sides of the sign. Plan set approved and ready for pick up of the sign permit. - H. Thrall |
05/31/2019 | COT - ENGR - Signage Final | HThrall | Continued | Entered by HTHRALL1 - RE: Sign Review For: New wall signs / change copy monument AT: 6167 E Speedway Blvd Permit: T19OT00476 Reviewer: H. Thrall Date: 5/31/19 1) Frontage is on Speedway and Rook - revise location map and application. Two parcels are involved, not 3; 6167 and 6171 E Speedway. Proposed sign area will be in compliance with estimated lenght of lot lines along Speedway and Rook. See 2014 site plan from T14OT00407 for assistance - or Pima County Assessor's for lot line dimensions for permit record. 2) Permit T13CM07789 from 2013 on file shows expired - no inspections for metal fascia installed on south and east - via engineered plans - for wall sign mounts. As metal fascia remains and is to be used for install of these wall signs, contact Juan.Garcia@tucsonaz.gov to inquire on reactivation of building fascia permit to call in inspections for new sign mountings. 3) Permit T14OT00407 for monument sign was finaled with one side being an electronic message center, the other side left blank. The code allows a monument sign in a commercial zone to be on one side of bisection line of a street corner. Appears sign was installed to straddle bisection line of Speedway, an arterial street, and Rook, a local street. The Rook side was prohibited by prior permit from having display. A) Provide current photos both sides of sign B) Demonstrate on plan if sign was installed on just Speedway side of street corner bisection, if so - specify if desire is to have static display both sides on change of copy. C) Clarify if EMC was removed. 4) Wall sign mounting: A) Enlarge all spec notes and wall sign mounting details, to include size of bolts and number. B) Specify how both channel letters and raceway are mounted to metal fascia referred to in comment 3. (Can't read details.) 5) Electrical - NEC. 600. - both sign elevation sheets: A) -note Volts per sign. B) - note where power supply and dedicated circuit are located for inspections. C) - enlarge disconnect switch note - barely came through on plan Email revisions to Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov |
