Further understood contractor consulted business owner (also property owner) about preserving components of this nonconforming pole sign under the potential Historic Landmark Sign (HLS) application, and pursuing a new freestanding sign separately, which is not desired at this time. 2) Noted the wall signs are within sign area allowance per property boundary frontage noted on plan along Speedway. (Painted band around building does not count toward sign area.) 3) Show current pole sign setback from curb to leading edge of sign on location plan (acknowledged note on elevation view, match plan) 4) Received revised neon plan 5/23. The following comments apply: A) Dimension thickness of sign on side view, between cabinet faces. B) increase font of notes for top view of neon -minimum 12 point. C) NEC 600 - as existing sign, state if using existing dedicated branch circuit or provide. D) NEC 600 - note location of power panel for inspections. E) NEC 600.3 - provide listing information. 5) Outdoor Lighting Code - 104.1 alterations to sign requires compliance with OLC. Per 501.4. Exposed lamps subject to lamp source, shielding requirements, color temperature and lumen caps of Chapter 4, OLC. A) 501.4 Provide lumen count for the site. B) 501. Demonstrate color temperature of each neon source (white and green) meets color temperature maximum of 3500 K for exposed lamp C) OLC 403.1 - Curfew is 11 p.m. for unshield light source, note on plan. D) 401.4 - Other than full cut off lighting, unshielded fixture shal not exceed 3,000 lumens per luminaire. Show neon fixtures on elevation view, within each letter. 6) Further review comments may be forthcoming, depending on responses provided.
