1) Note on application the sign area for the "Starbucks Coffee" on the drive thru canopy side wall and how mounted, if illuminated.
2) Sign C - noted engineering provided/ approved
A) note this is a "digital sign in drive thru"
B) remove 4400K color temp notation
C) Note mechanism for dimming to 200 NITS sunset to sunrise, i.e. photocell, laser sensor or timer?
D) Provide unit manufacturer and specific unit number.
(NOTE - FCC is reporting issues with some digital signs interfering with communication abilities with small cell wireless arrays, and is notifying local sign contractors they must use FCC complianct units, please check this is an FCC compliant unit.)
3) Sign D - Noted engineering provided / approved for canopy structure.
A) provide info on both the static letters & the digital sign as follows
B) note how lettering mounted on side of canopy (what is clip?)
C) note "Non-illuminated acrylic FCO letters" for clarity

1) Per UDC 7A.11.4.17. - the Starbucks parcel is not a separate premise, but part of a greater premise that includes the Albertson's center. The detached monument sign proposed may be permitted as part of the overall development signage, with approval from the property management for that overall development, as staff has researched the property line frontage along Grant Road is greater than 450' and only one freestanding sign exists at present for the center.
2) To proceed:
A) Provide letter of permission from management of the overall center indicating Starbucks may erect a freestanding sign that will utilize the one remaining freestanding sign allowance for the center, as allowed, along Grant Road. (McDonald's is a separate premise.)
B) UDC 7A.10.2.C.2. - Provide an aerial photo, Pima County Assessor document, subdivision or development plan document that shows the dimensioned lot line from the eastern most part of the Starbucks parcel and continuing west to the western most part of the Albertson's parcel to confirm sufficient street frontage for two detached signs for the permit record.
C) Show the location of the existing shopping center freestanding sign on the above noted map, and the proposed monument sign on that same map .
D) The sign shown in the package is a monument sign. Setbacks for a monument sign are a minimum of 20' from face of street curb (Grant), to be on private property, and must be shown on a scaled site plan, and with sight visibility triangles.
E) Providing approval is granted from the shopping center management for the sign... the sign can be made into a "low-profile freestanding sign, by having a 2' base the full length under the sign cabinet. (A 1' tall base is shown now.) A low-profile style freestanding sign is allowed a height of 8' maximum, at 16' setback from street curb, providing the sign is outside the sight visibility triangle and on private property.
3) The sign area is not correct on several signs included in the package, please review drawings and dimensions and recalculate, compare to engineered plans.
4) Review sign heights through out the package.
A) directional signs are limited to 3' height here (engineered plans not needed for directional sign and can be removed from the package, with the correct sign height on the plan set)
5) Per NEC 600 -
A) ID location of shut off switches on all signs.
B) Note power panel location for inspections of signage, note any branch circuits
6) Per Outdoor Lighting Code Ch. 4 & 5
A) ID digital function signage
B) note digital signs shall be dimmed to 200 NITS from sunset to sunrise
C)note method of dimming and show on the diagram
7) Show sign area on the canopy - both lettered sign and digital sign.
8) Check and show/list all mounting methods for each sign
A) remove all engineering from package except for 3 piece menu board and for canopy structure
