NOTE: overall submittal meets code criteria for allowance of and construction of the proposed monument sign. The following review comments are to provide clarifications for the code review overall.
1) (IBC 2018) Structural ASA engineering accepted for pipe and footer size for overall sign structure.
A) label all plates and size/number of bolts to be used for mounting cabinetry on elevation drawing
B) LED CRAFT diagram shows "weld to angle iron". Any field welding for mounting of the digital sign to the framework requires specific engineering and special inspection. Have engineer provide welding calcs and fill out special inspection form.

IF shop welding can be done, specify. If another method of connection can be provided, specify and further review will be done.
2) (Sign Standards 7A UDC)
A) Dimension fullest extent of sign cabinetry from face to opposite face. Current dimension taken at cabinet retainer edges.
B) Revise Speedway Blvd street frontage to 156.37 linear feet of property line per Development package DP17-0154 (includes 1/2 of curved spandrel at Speedway/Stone).
C) Revise Stone Avenue street frontage to 147.86 of linear lot line - including part of curved spandrel at corner of Speedway and Stone, per Development package DP17-0154.
D) Grade area at sign is within depressed landscape area per development package. Please check grade at sign location. Height is taken from average of grade levels around the sign -as measured 5' away from each side of the sign. Note height is 10' maximum, and may have to be adjusted accordingly at the height of the base, depending on elevations around the sign structure. Show on plan elevation view the grade levels 5' away from each side of the sign and point the average, where height is to be taken from - for records and inspections.
3) (NEC 600) Note where power is coming from to the sign, and control panel for inspections. All other electrical aspects addressed, thank you.
4) (Outdoor Lighting Code Ch. 4 & 5 )
A) Noted on the plan the digital sign will dim to 200 Nits from sunset to sunrise, accepted, thank you.
B) Show on plans the location of the photocell or light sensor on the digital sign cabinet for inspections.
C) Remove color temperature notation for digital sign of 3500k, not applicable with the reduction in light brightness down to 200 Nits from sunset to sunrise.
D) Note is provided on plans that sign internal color temperature is 4400K. Clarify on plan "static message" sign cabinetry internal color temperature is 4400K.
5) Enlarge general notes throughout the plan to minimum of 10 point sized font for legibility of electronic records.
