05/29/2019 COT - ENGR - Signage Final HThrall Denied Entered by HTHRALL1 - RE: Sign review (2nd review / resub) For: DF monument sign AT: 1241 E Prince Road Permit: T19OT00232 Date: 5/29/2019 Reviewer: H. Thrall The following review comments are per Sign Standards 7A of the Unified Development Code (UDC). 1) Provide scaled site plan. Document provided is only an aerial photo that is missing required information. A) Property lines should be shown to ensure the sign is on site and not in city right of way. B) Dimension of property line along Fort Lowell required (frontage). C) Dimension setback of sign from leading edge of sign to face of curb D) Dimension sight visibility triangles. E) Show any easements / driveways widths / sign location F) If a recent site plan is not available, use our mapping system with aerial and a combination of the Pima County Assessor map to show lot lines/easements. Recommend blue stake. 2) If no slope above roadway, take sign height from top of curb and show in elevation view (7A.10.6.5) If slope higher than road, measure 5' away from each side of sign, average those 4 points and show on elevation view where height taken from. 3) Comment remains unaddressed. Per definition of a monument sign, 7A.10.2.C., pole covers are required as there is no architectural embellishment nor base with this sign design. Show support posts on page 1, and then show the pole cover around the sign support post. Note, for flexibility in design on pole covers, there is no minimum width for the pole covers on a monument type sign - the exterior posting as shown may serve as a pole cover for a smaller interior post. Demonstrate in the diagram on sheet 1. 4) Sign area of each cabinet is noted, thank you. (Needed for future change of copy.) However, please show the full boxed area of the full extent of the sign cabinetry as the total sign area. 5) Further review comments forthcoming, depending on revisions provided. Send revisions to Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov

03/12/2019 COT - ENGR - Signage Final Hthrall Correction Required Entered by HTHRALL1 - RE: monument sign review For: 1241 E Prince Road Permit: T19OT00232 Date: 3/12/19 Reviewer: H.Thrall 1) This appears to be drawing set submitted from contractor Monster Signs. Remove any other contact party names from the drawing set, as plans belong to Monster Signs. 2) Provide a site plan, to scale, dimensioned property line frontage, sight visibility triangles (20' x 345' as taken from bike lane or curb inward into the site), setback from face of curb to leading edge of sign. (UDC 7A.10) This information can be superimposed on an aerial. 3) Sign is too tall. Shorten to 10' height as taken from adjacent asphalt. (UDC 7A.10.2.C.2) 4) Per definition of a monument sign, provide pole covers. 5) Box cumulative sign cabinet area, including rounded aspect - as full extent of the sign and revise plan. (UDC 7A.6.1) Leave each panel boxed for change of copy in the future and for inspections. 6) Further review will continue with revised plans. Submit revised plans to Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov
