11/12/2019 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved VISITED SITE AS A FOLLOW UP INSPECTION. RICHARD VIDAL MADE THE INITIAL INSPECTION EARLY, I WAS CALLED BACK OUT TO SECURE THE BUILDING. I MET WITH TPD INVESTIGATOR WHO WALKED ME THRU THE BUILDING AND SHOWED ME WHERE THE FIRE WAS STARTED. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STRUCTURE ON THE FLOOR. FOUND THERE TO BE ALOT OF SMOKE DAMAGE BUT NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. WALLS WERE ALSO PAINTED BLACK SO IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TELL HOW BAD THE SMOKE DAMAGE WAS. THERE WAS A WINDOW BROKEN ON THE SECOND STORY ROOM BUT TPD STATED THEY BROKE THE WINDOW FROM INSIDE TO GET OUT.
MAINTANENCE PERSON STATED THE OWNER IS IN TOWN TODAY FOR A EVICTION AND HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET THE BUSINESS OWNER OUT OF THE BUILDING FOR ABOUT A YEAR. MAINTANENCE PERSONAL WERE ON SITE TO SECURE THE BUILDING. MAINTANECE LEFT TO PICK UP PLY WOOD. THEY HAD LOCKS FOR THE SIDE GATE AND FRONT DOOR PLUS THEY WERE TO PLYWOOD THE FRONT SO THERE WOULD BE NO FURTHER DAMAGE. I TRIED TURNING POWER OFF AT A SUB PANEL INSIDE THE BATHROOM AND OUT SIDE ON THE WEST WALL BUT BREAKERS IN BOTH PANELS WERE ALREADY OFF AND TURNING BREAKERS BACK ON DID NOT RESTORE THE POWER. THERE WERE ADDITIONAL BUILDINGS AND NO ONE TO TELL ME WHERE BREAKERS- PANELS WERE LOCATED. BUILDING WAS BEING SECURED BY THE OWNER. NOV FOR EMERGENCY VACATE AND A INDEMNIFICATION NOTICE WERE ISSUED TO THE OWNER AND SIGNED FOR BY THE LEAD MAINTANENCE PERSON. TPD REMAINED ON SITE WAITING FOR THE PROPERTY MANAGER. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE.
