Arrived and all the units were still on site and the fire was active in the southwest corner of the building. The area was a boiler room and burned into the hallway area to the offices and the kitchen area. The building was sprinklered and the heads went off in the area. Did turn off the valve to the fire system due to the heads were going off and not able to stop the water from coming out. The water main valve shut off was turned off by the water department due to some of the water lines were leaking from the boiler and the water softner. Did have water lines in the hallway area that will need to be checked for fire damage due to has copper pipes with soldering on the fittings. The electrical was removed at the transformer due to the amount of damage to the roof and the plumbing and the electrical in the area. The gas meter was pinned due to the amount of damage and the business will be closed for some time. The fire appeared to be in the ceiling area and the boiler room appears to be where the fire started. The management was on site including the owner of the business. The owner did sign the paperwork on site. The owner was going to secure the building and the building will be in a fire watch. |
