07/31/2019 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Communication called that T.F.D. on site with an apartment fire. Arrived and the units were still on site and were in the process of cleaning up and loading the trucks back up. The fire investigators were not coming to the site due to the fire started on the stove and than burned the cabinets, the range hood was a total lost and drywall was removed to check for fire in the walls. The wiring for the range has been burned and will need to be replaced. the wiring for the hood has also been burned. The is another wire and not sure where it goes at this time and that has been burned. The fire was in the kitchen area by the stove and damage was done in the hallway to the bathroom area. The wood framing appears to be OK at this time. The manager was on site and signed the paperwork and the maintainence has been called to the property to have the locks changed. The tenant was not aware of the fire and the son of the tenant was staying in the unit due to the tenant was gone for work at this time. The fire was contained to the kitchen area and has light smoke damage through out. No vent hole cut on the roof and no damage to the lower units. The main structure is OK. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on the front window and the manager kept the copies of the paperwork. RV. |
