05/28/2019 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Communication called that T.F.D. on site with metal drums that caught fire in the rear of the building. Arrived and the units were still on site and checking for hot spots. A pump was being cleaned with a solvent and was in a contained area near a boiler that was on gas. Appears that the vapors enter the boiler room area through a vent at the bottom and a flash fire happened. A glass window was broken that goes to the office, some copper lines for nitro that went to a mixing box, an air line of copper lost the plug and was re-capped, a mini split system was damaged by the fire and will need to be replaced, has conduit on the wall that has heat damage and apart, a metal door was rusted at the bottom and was still burning in the middle of the door and was wet with a hose on site. Southwest Gas was called to the site due to the boiler has gas and the gas line was checked. Did find gas leaks on the roof and those leaks were sealed by Southwest Gas while on site. The gas was being turned back on. The owner was on site and signed the N.O.V. and went over that a permit will be required for the repairs to be done by a contractor. The operation that was being done at the time of the fire was not an approved method for the area to be done. The fire inspector will be checking the area. Once the gas being turned back on and the building was locked up. The business is able to continue to do business and had an operation in process during the fire and was able to complete the operation on a machine. I left the site. RV. |
