FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS, TUCSON WATER HAS RESPONDED REPEATEDLY TO COMPLAINTS OF WATER TRAVELING WEST ON 1ST STREET BETWEEN PARK AVE AND EUCLID AVE, AND IN SOME CASES PASSING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION OF 1ST STREET AND EUCLID AVE AND CONTINUING WEST INTO THE WEST UNIVERSITY NEIGHBORHOOD. INVESTIGATIONS PERFORMED BY CITY STAFF INDICATE THAT A PORTION OF THIS WATER IS COMING FROM POOL DISCHARGE, DECK WASHING, AND/OR LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION AT YOUR PROPERTY.
THESE DISCHARGES ARE IN VIOLATION OF TUCSON CODE, SECTION 27-15(A) AS FOLLOWS:
(1) ALLOWING WATER TO ESCAPE FROM ANY PREMISES ONTO PUBLIC PROPERTY, SUCH AS ALLEYS OR STREETS, OR UPON ANY OTHER PERSON'S PROPERTY.
(2) ALLOWING WATER TO POND IN ANY STREET OR PARKING LOT TO A DEPTH GREATER THAN ONE-QUARTER (1/4) INCH OR TO PERMIT WATER TO POND OVER A CUMULATIVE SURFACE AREA GREATER THAN ONE HUNDRED FIFTY (150) SQUARE FEET ON ANY STREET OR PARKING LOT.
ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE THROUGH INSPECTOR FIELD MEETINGS OR OTHER VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH YOUR PROPERTY'S MANAGER AND/OR MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN ENTIRELY CEASING THESE ILLICIT DISCHARGES.
