The drawing received for the lighting/mounting was not clear, please pardon if any of the following comments are listed, as reviewers were unable to determine the full spectrum of information the way the detail was provided.
1) Per Outdoor Lighting Code (OLC) Section 403.5, provide 24 hour time clock and note location on plan for inspections.
2) Per OLC Section 501.3.2 - note on plan maximum color temperature of an internally illuminated sign is 4400K.
3) NEC 600 - clearly call out the location of the disconnect switch. Sign to be on isolated circuit, state on plans.
A) specify volts, amps, cirucits on the plans (NEC 600)
4) Provide clearly labeled, enlarged and darkened diagram of the channel letter and logo mounted to wall.
A) specify wall surface
B) specify number of penetrations total - note, this will be important for historic review of this location
C) specify type of mounting suitable for the sign to the wall type
D) check height off the ground for the sign - scale appears that the height is greater - or check the way the photo was applied.
5) This site is zoned HC-3 and within the West University Historic District. Once corrected plans are received, the project can be referred for historic review process. (Note, sign area proposed within allowance for HC-3 zone/sign district.) Please send revisions to Heather.Thrall@tucsonaz.gov
