Communication called that T.F.D. on site with a kitchen fire. Arrived and the units still on site due to the roof still had smoke coming out. The fire was in the kitchen area of Station 11 for the fire department. The other areas have smoke damage. The living room area has the lighting that the lens have fallen due to melting and the fixtures are smoked. The kitchen cabinets are burned and the drywall ceiling has been removed. The main roof covering was fiber board with a gap and than had another layer of fiber board for the covering for the roof. The fire kept spreading through the fiber board and kept removing until was no burning. Made a hole in the roof approx. 5' x 6' through all the layers. Did call inspector Rick Hollander to the site to check on if the electrical can be put back and was not able to turn the electrical back on due to the labeling was not correct. Was able to turn the power back on for the garage door for the bays to lock the building. Did call Arcaiden Industries to the site to have the building secured where the glass was cracked from the heat and the fire. The building belongs to the City of Tucson and they will do the repairs. Was called to the site of the fire. Researched electrical equipment to determine what power would be able to be renergized. Located two interior electrical sub-panels labeled "E" & "F". Sub-panel "F" was for the west fire truck bays and not connected to the fire area. Sub-panel "E" had the circuits in the fire area. The circuit directory was not correctly labeled so as to determine which circuit to disable and which ones may be renergized. The City Electrician arrived on site and was able to energize the circuit of the garage door in the east truck bay. Door was closed and building was secured. |
